YIPHA MANGAAL WEAVER PRIVATE LIMITED

Yipha Mangaal Weaver Private Limited is based out of Konthoujam in Mamang Leikai. We are at house number 35, which is right in the heart of the village area in Imphal West. As the name says, we are into the weaving side of things. It is a traditional kind of work that has been around here forever. Our office is just a regular house where we keep the records and talk to the weavers. It is not like a factory you would see in a big city. It’s much more local and quiet here in Konthoujam. You can often hear the sound of the looms if you walk around the neighborhood. We are a private limited company, but it feels more like a family thing because everyone knows each other in Mamang Leikai. We don't spend any time on fancy talk or making brochures. We just make sure the yarn is there and the finished pieces are collected. Sometimes the logistics of getting things in and out of the village can be a bit of a headache, especially during the rainy season when the roads get soft, but we have our ways of managing. We have been doing this for a while and the people here are used to seeing us at work. It is just a steady, everyday job for us. We stay focused on the weaving, count the bundles of thread, and let the business take care of itself slowly as the months go by.
