Shija Hospitals Research Institute

We are located up in Langol, in the Imphal-West area. Being in Manipur, we get people coming in from all over the state, not just the local neighborhood. It’s a large facility, so there’s always something happening in one of the wards or the research wing. The morning starts early here with the shift changes and the sound of trolleys moving through the halls. We’ve got a lot of different departments, but at the end of the day, it’s just about looking after the patients. The view of the hills from some of the windows is quite nice, which helps on the more stressful days. Our staff lives nearby mostly, and we’ve all been through the ups and downs of the region together. It’s not a fancy private club; it’s a working hospital and research center. We have students around sometimes, learning the ropes, which adds to the energy of the place. The paperwork is never-ending, and the waiting rooms are often full, but we just keep at it. It’s a lot of responsibility being the main place people turn to in this part of Imphal. We don’t use much corporate talk because we don’t have time for it. We just focus on the rounds, the lab results, and getting people home. There is always a lot of activity at the entrance with families coming and going throughout the day.
