Karung Resource Foundation

We are located out in Chandel, in a place called Khuwrinkhuw village. It is Karung Athang’s place where we set up the foundation. To get here, you have to travel a bit and the roads are not always in the best shape, especially when the monsoon hits and everything gets muddy. Our office is a simple room in the village. We don't have a lot of staff or fancy equipment. It is mostly just us sitting around a small table and talking about what needs to be done for the local community. The power goes out quite often here, so we have learned to do most of our work during the daylight hours. When it gets dark, we usually wrap things up. People from the village often stop by to chat or ask for advice on small things. We use whatever resources we can find locally to keep things moving. It is a slow pace of life compared to the city, but there is always plenty of work to do. We handle the paperwork manually most of the time. The village is quiet, which helps us focus on the tasks at hand. We’ve lived here a long time, so we know every family and every corner of this place. It’s just a small group of us trying to manage things as best as we can with what we have in Chandel.
