We are located at Ch. Gulshan Singh’s place over in Soibam Leikai. Most days here start early because that’s just how things go when you’re dealing with agriculture. We aren't some big outfit with fancy offices and desks that shine. Our space is lived-in and mostly smells like paperwork and the tea we keep making throughout the afternoon. We started this because we saw how many farmers in our area were struggling with the basic stuff, like getting the right seeds or knowing when the weather was going to turn bad on them. It’s a collective, which just means a bunch of us decided to put our heads together instead of working alone. We spend a lot of time talking to people from the nearby fields and trying to figure out how to get better prices for what they grow. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we don't, but the office door is usually open if someone needs to sit down and chat about their crops. We don't have a lot of staff, maybe just a few of us who handle the day-to-day things. It gets busy during the planting season, and that’s when the foundation feels the most alive, even if it's just us running around with folders and phones and trying to keep everything organized before the rain hits.
