Clinic Maroodyar Research Centre

Our place, Clinic Maroodyar Research Centre, is located on Wangkhei Yairipok Road. Most people know it as being near the Palace Gate in Imphal. It’s a quiet enough area for the most part. The building is simple and doesn’t stand out much. We have a few rooms inside for different things. Some are for seeing patients and others have books and papers for the research side of things. It’s not a huge center, just a modest setup. We have a lot of wooden furniture that’s been here since we started. The waiting area has some local newspapers and a few chairs. People from all over Imphal come here. We see a lot of different cases. It keeps us busy. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, so we have a mat at the door for people to wipe their feet. We try to keep the inside as clean as possible. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few of us doing everything. We handle the appointments and the filing ourselves. It’s a very hands-on way of working. Sometimes the phone rings a lot and other times it’s very still. We like the balance. It’s been our home for years now. We know the neighbors and the shopkeepers nearby. It feels like a community. We just keep doing our daily tasks and seeing whoever needs help at the Palace Gate.
