Star Industries

Star Industries sits right out on the Solapur-Bangalore Highway No. 50 in the Bagalkot district. Being out on the highway means we see a lot of dust and a lot of trucks passing by all day and night. It’s a big space because we need the room for everything we do. We’ve been out here for a while, and the landscape is mostly open fields around us. Inside the gates, it’s a different story. There is always the sound of something being moved or a motor running. We wear heavy boots because the ground is rough and there's usually something heavy nearby. It gets dusty, especially in the dry season when the wind picks up off the road. We aren't close to the city, so we have to be pretty self-reliant. If something breaks, we usually have to figure out how to fix it ourselves. The staff is mostly local folks from the surrounding villages. We eat our lunch together under the shade when it gets too hot. It isn't a glamorous life, but it's what we know. The work is steady and keeps us on our feet. We don't have fancy brochures or a big marketing team. We just have our building and the work that goes on inside it every day. That's just the way it is at Star Industries. We keep our heads down and get through the list of tasks. Day after day, it’s the same routine but it works.
