L & T Construction

We are based out in Ilkal, which is not too far from Bijapur. It’s a bit of a dusty area sometimes because of all the work going on. We handle a lot of construction projects in this region. If you come by our site, you’ll see plenty of heavy machinery, piles of gravel, and stacks of cement bags. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. Most of us spend our time wearing hard hats and boots, walking around the site to make sure the walls are going up straight and the foundations are solid. We don’t have a big polished office here; our workspace is usually a temporary cabin where we keep the blueprints and the time sheets. It gets hot out here during the day, so we start early to get as much done as we can before the sun gets too high. We work with a lot of local laborers and operators. There is always the sound of engines and hammers in the background. Construction is slow work sometimes, especially when you have to wait for materials to arrive or for the concrete to set properly. We just take it day by day. We aren't trying to be fancy or show off. We just want to make sure the structures we build are strong enough to last. It’s a lot of physical labor and staying organized in the middle of all the dirt and noise. We like seeing a building slowly rise up from nothing.
