Thumbunkal Constructions Private Limited is located up in the hills of Idukki. Our main place is Thoompunkal in Perinchamkutty, which is near Mullarikkudi. Working in Idukki is different from the plains. The terrain is steep and the weather can be unpredictable. We have been around here for a while, so we know how to handle the local conditions. Our office is just a simple place where we manage the projects. We don't have a big corporate setup. It is mostly just us and a few regular workers. We spend a lot of time on the roads, moving between different construction sites in the district. It is hard work, especially when the monsoon hits and everything turns to mud and the trucks get stuck. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just build things. Whether it is a house or something else, we just get on with it. Being at Thoompunkal keeps us close to the heart of the community here. We know the local suppliers and we know what kind of materials work best in this climate. We aren't trying to be the biggest construction firm in Kerala. We just want to do a decent job so we can keep working. People around Perinchamkutty know where to find us if they need a hand with a project. We just keep things practical and try to stay busy throughout the year. That is our life.
