The Adams Hospital

We are located in Maraiyur, specifically at Kovil Kadavu near the river bridge. You can hear the water sometimes when it’s quiet, which is nice. The Adams Hospital has been a fixture here for a while. Being near the river bridge makes us a landmark for people who are passing through or living nearby. The building is an older style, and we’ve had to patch up the roof a couple of times after the heavy rains. It’s not a giant facility, but it’s what we have and we make it work. Most of the people who come to see us are from the local villages around Maraiyur. We get a lot of people coming in for basic things, and sometimes more serious stuff too. The waiting area is usually full of people chatting while they wait. We don’t have a fancy computerized system for everything; we still use a lot of paper logs and notebooks to keep track of things. It feels more personal that way, though it can be a bit slower. Our staff is mostly local, so they speak the language and understand what people are going through. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. We just open the doors in the morning and stay until the work is finished. It’s a simple life here by the bridge, just doing what needs to be done. We appreciate the people who trust us with their health.
