St. Mary'S Hospital

If you drive down Olamattom Idukki Road, you will see St. Mary'S Hospital. It is set back a little from the road, which is nice because it keeps some of the traffic noise away. The air feels a bit different here, maybe because of all the greenery around this part of Idukki. We spend a lot of our time just managing the flow of people coming in from the hills and the nearby towns. The hospital is a practical place. It has white walls that we try to keep clean, and the floors are a bit worn down from all the walking back and forth. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just have our names on the door and a sign out front that people recognize. On rainy days, the porch gets a bit muddy from everyone’s boots, and we have to mop it more often. The staff here mostly grew up around this area, so we know the shortcuts and the local news. We handle a lot of different things, from small scrapes to bigger problems that keep people in beds for a few days. It is a steady rhythm of work. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the most famous place. We are just here on Idukki Road for when the local folks need us. It is an honest way to spend the day, even when it is long and tiring.
