Sree Krishna Stores

My family has been running Sree Krishna Stores for a good while now. We are right on the Munnar Kumily Highway in Anakkara. It's a busy spot with cars going by all day. People stop in when they need things like snacks or household items. It gets a bit dusty because of the road, but we try to keep it tidy. Sometimes tourists stop by asking for directions. We mostly sell things people actually use every day. It’s not a big fancy supermarket, just a regular shop. My brother helps out in the afternoons. We see the same faces every week from the village. It's nice knowing everyone's name. The rain can be heavy here, so we keep the porch clear for people to duck under. We don't have a website or anything like that. If we are out of something, we just write it down and get it on the next delivery day. It's pretty straightforward. We open early so people going to work can grab what they need. Sometimes the stock is a bit messy on the shelves, but we know where everything is. If you're driving through Anakkara, you'll see us there on the side of the highway. It’s just how we make a living. Nothing too complicated about it. We just keep the doors open and sell what's on the shelves. We don't care about being the biggest, just about keeping the place going.
