Santhigiri Ayurveda & Siddha Hospital

Down in Kumily, you’ll find the Santhigiri Ayurveda & Siddha Hospital. We are located inside the Santhigiri Complex. Kumily is a busy little place, especially with all the people coming through for the spice shops and the nature tours. The hospital is part of the larger complex there. It’s got a different feel than a regular hospital because we focus on Ayurveda and Siddha treatments. You can usually smell the herbs and the oils when you walk into the building, which I find quite nice compared to the usual harsh medicinal smells. The complex itself is pretty big, so you have to look for the right signs to find our specific door. I’ve been working around here for a while, and the pace of life is a bit slower than what you find in the city. People don't seem to be in such a big rush. The rooms are simple and we try to keep things tidy, but it's an older building so it has its little quirks. Sometimes a door might creak or the windows don't close all the way, but it adds to the character. We get a mix of locals and people who are just passing through Kumily for a few days. The staff mostly speaks the local language, but we manage to talk to everyone who walks in. It’s a solid building made of stone and concrete, sitting right there in the heart of the town. There’s no big mission statement on the wall, just the daily schedule.
