Pulimoottil Silks is right here in Thodupuzha, just across from the Cicilia Hotel. If you know the area, Building No. 27/224 is where we spend most of our days. It gets busy on this street, especially when people are out looking for something nice to wear for a wedding or just a family gathering. We have been handling sarees and silks for a while now. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding fabric to show the colors. Sometimes the rain here in Idukki makes things slow, but we usually have someone coming in to look at the latest stock. We don’t do anything fancy with our setup. It’s just shelves full of clothes and us trying to help people find what they need. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see different faces depending on the time of day. We stay open pretty late to make sure workers can stop by after they finish their shifts. Living and working in Kerala means you deal with the humidity, but the shop stays decent enough. There isn’t much to say other than we sell textiles. We try to keep things simple. If you are walking down the road near the hotel, you can’t really miss the sign. It’s been our spot for some time and we just keep going day by day. Thodupuzha is a good place for a business like this because everyone knows everyone. We take our time with people.
