The Way To Kerala Holidays

We are set up in the Ashika Hill Calicut College Building in Thodupuzha. It’s a bit of a climb up the hill but the air is decent. Most of the time we’re sitting at the desks looking at maps or talking on the phones. The Way To Kerala Holidays is what it says on the door. It’s a simple office. We have a few plastic chairs for when people drop by. Thodupuzha gets quite rainy during the monsoon season. I usually bring an umbrella and leave it by the door to dry. The building itself is old, with some cracks in the plaster here and there. We share the space with a few other offices. Sometimes you can hear the students from the college nearby. I started working here about three years back. My desk is near the window where I can see the trees. We handle a lot of paperwork. It’s mostly bookings and itineraries for people wanting to see the hills or the water. We don't have a big staff. It's just a few of us. We try to keep the files organized but they always seem to end up in piles. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two. We just wait it out. It’s a quiet life at Ashika Hill. People find us by word of mouth mostly. We just do our bit and go home when the sun goes down. The stairs are a bit steep so I take them slow every morning. It's just our routine. We keep a jar of biscuits on the shelf for when the coffee runs low.
