Periyar House

Periyar House is situated right near the tiger reserves. Specifically, we are near the voting area. It is a bit of an unusual spot, but it is where we are. Living and working so close to the tiger reserves means we see a lot of nature. It’s not like living in a city. Things are slower here, except when it’s busy with visitors. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just us looking after the place. The address says tiger reserves twice, which is just how it is recorded. We spend our time making sure the house is ready for whoever comes by. Being near the voting area is another way people find us. It’s a quiet life for the most part, surrounded by the trees and the sounds of the woods. Periyar House isn't trying to be a five-star luxury place. It’s just a house near the reserve. We do the cleaning, we fix things when they break, and we talk to the people who stop in. It’s honest work. We don't have any fancy slogans. We just exist here in this spot. If you like being near the wildlife and the tiger reserves, you’ll understand why we stay. It’s a bit out of the way, but we like it like that. We just keep things going one day at a time at Periyar House. It isn't always easy, but we make it work somehow. We are just part of the landscape now. Not much else to it really.
