You can find us over at Kochupurackal in Parathanam, which is near Mundakkayam in Kottayam. We work with jackfruit products, which is a very specific kind of business to be in. Jackfruit is everywhere in this part of Kerala, but processing it is a lot of hard work. It’s sticky and heavy, and you really have to know what you’re doing to get it right. Our facility is a practical space where we handle the fruit as it comes in from the local trees. We have a bunch of people who spend their days cutting and prepping the fruit. It’s a lot of manual labor, and your hands end up covered in sap by the end of the shift. We aren't a big industrial factory; it’s more of a community effort here in Mundakkayam. The seasonal nature of the fruit means we are either incredibly busy or a bit quiet, and we just have to plan for that. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just take the fruit and make it into something people can use. The building is surrounded by greenery, which is nice, though the mosquitoes can be a bother in the evenings. We’ve been operating from this address for a while and have become a regular part of the local economy. It’s just us doing what we know best with the fruit we have.
