Maria Homestay

Maria Homestay is our family place located in Chithirapuram P.O. at Thattathimukku. We decided to open up a couple of rooms for travelers because we had the extra space and it is nice to have company. It is not a hotel with a front desk and uniforms. It is just our house. We spend most of our mornings cleaning the guest rooms or fixing things in the garden. Chithirapuram is a nice area, usually quite green and cool compared to the towns lower down the hills. We have a few cats that hang around the porch, so guests usually see them first. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow because of the terrain, but most people do not seem to mind too much. We cook breakfast in our own kitchen and serve it on the small table outside. It is simple food, whatever we are having ourselves. The road up to Thattathimukku can be a bit winding, so we tell people to drive carefully if they are coming after dark. We have lived here for a long time and know all the neighbors. If you need a recommendation for a local walk, we can point you in the right direction. We do not have a big staff, just me and my husband doing the laundry and keeping things tidy. It is a quiet life for the most part. We like meeting different people who pass through this part of the country.
