Holy Family Hospital

Our place is over in Thodupuzha East, specifically tied in with the college of nursing. It’s a bit different here because we have so many students around all the time. You’ll see them in their uniforms walking back and forth between the classrooms and the hospital floors. It’s a lively atmosphere because of the young people learning the ropes. The area is a bit quieter than the big cities, but we still stay busy. The rains in this part of Kerala can be quite heavy, and sometimes the whole place smells like damp earth and grass. We spend a lot of time making sure the students are actually getting their hands dirty and learning how to take care of real people. The building itself has some age to it, with wide corridors that let in a bit of a breeze when the weather is right. We don't have a lot of flashy equipment, but we have enough to get the job done and teach the next generation. The staff here are mostly local folks who have been around for years. We eat our lunch in a small breakroom and talk about the day's schedule. It’s a very hands-on environment. People from the surrounding villages come here when they aren't feeling well. We just try to keep things organized and make sure the wards are running smoothly. It’s a simple, practical setup for both the patients and the nursing students.
