Highrange Jaggery

Our place is located at No- 263/571 in Kadukkacity. It's a quiet area near Vandanmedu, over in Kattappana. We deal with jaggery here. It's a sticky business, especially when the weather gets hot, but we’ve been at it for some time. The smell of boiling sugarcane juice is something you get used to pretty quick. We don't have a big office or anything, just the space where we process and pack the blocks. People from the nearby farms stop by often. Sometimes the delivery trucks take a bit of time to navigate the roads around here because it's quite hilly. The work starts early in the morning before the sun gets too high. We mostly sell to local shops and families who want real jaggery for their cooking. It's not the kind of stuff you find in fancy supermarkets with bright labels. Ours is just plain and simple. We try to keep the place clean, though it’s hard with all that sugar around. The floor can get a bit tacky. Most days it's just us working through the piles and making sure everything is weighed right. If you are passing through Kattappana, you might see us near the Kadukkacity stretch. We don't do much advertising, word of mouth usually brings people to the door. It's just honest work in a small town where everyone knows everyone else eventually. We keep it simple and just focus on the jaggery.
