Siva Sakthi Bricks

Our yard is located at Plot No. 45/1 on the Omalur Main Road in Konganapuram. It’s a good location for us because the big trucks can get in and out without getting stuck. We handle bricks mostly. It’s a very dusty business, just like any other brickyard you might see. We have stacks of bricks piled up in every corner of the plot. We’ve been operating here for several years now. It started out very small but we’ve managed to keep it going through the years. There are days when the sun is so hot you can't even stand to be near the kilns, but that's just part of the daily trade. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a long time. They know exactly how to stack the bricks so they don't fall over during the night. We don't use any big marketing tricks or advertisements. People know us because they see the stacks of bricks from the main road. We try to be honest about how much stock we actually have ready for sale. If we are out of stock because of a big order, we just tell people they have to wait a little while. It’s a basic business. We have a simple ledger where we write down the sales and the deliveries. We don't really use computers for any of that stuff. It’s just easier to write it down on paper.
