Yash Masala Udyog

Out in District Sehore, there is a small village called Ichhawar, and that is where Yash Masala Udyog is located. We are situated near Nadan Road. If you come by during the day, you can probably smell the spices from quite a distance. It’s a strong smell of turmeric and chili that sticks to your clothes. We don’t mind it much anymore. The business is pretty basic. We take the raw ingredients, grind them up, and get them into packets. There is no big automated system here; it’s mostly us working the machines and checking the textures. The Nadan Road sees a fair amount of tractors and local traffic, so there is always a bit of noise from the street. The workspace is kept as clean as we can manage, though the spice dust gets everywhere. We have a small crew of people who have been doing this for a long time. We don't have any big meetings or corporate retreats. We just talk over tea in the morning about what needs to be done. It’s a local operation through and through. The weather in Sehore can be tough, especially when it rains and the road gets muddy, but we keep going regardless. We just want to make sure people in the area have what they need for their cooking. It’s just a regular day at the udyog, nothing more and nothing less.
