Siddhi Fabrics is located in Gala 3 of the Kamgar Bank Building. It’s quite easy to find since we are right near the Dr. Ambedkar Statue on Station Road. The building is old and has that specific smell of concrete and time. Inside our gala, there are stacks of fabric everywhere. Sometimes it feels like the cloth is taking over the whole room. We spend most of the day measuring and cutting. It’s a lot of manual work and your back starts to ache after a few hours. The noise from the station road is constant, with horns and people shouting, but you get used to it. My uncle started this and now I handle most of the daily stuff. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside by the statue for a bit. It’s a bit dusty because of all the fabric lint flying around, but that’s the business. We don't try to look like a big showroom. It’s just a workshop with a lot of rolls of different materials. If someone asks for something we don’t have, we tell them where else to look. We aren't trying to beat anyone, just doing our daily bit. The tea guy brings us cutting chai twice a day and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We stay open until the station crowds thin out late at night.
