Our place is over in Defence Colony, specifically Plot No: 289 in the Sainikpuri Post area of Secunderabad. We work with granite and stone, so there is always a lot of heavy lifting going on. The slabs come in large and heavy, and we have to be careful how we move them around. It’s a noisy business with the saws and the grinders going most of the morning. We have a lot of different patterns and colors sitting in the yard. Most people come by to see the actual stone before they decide on anything because pictures never quite show it right. The office is usually dusty because of the cutting work nearby. We don’t have a big sales pitch. We just show people what we have in stock and tell them how much it costs. Sometimes the machines break or a delivery is late, and we just have to deal with it. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We spend a lot of time talking to contractors and homeowners who are trying to finish up their kitchens or floors. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and the neighborhood knows us. It’s just us, the stone, and the work that needs to be finished before the day ends.
