You can find us at C-46 in Vengalraonagar, right here in Hyderabad. The office is not very big, but it stays busy most of the time. We have some old posters on the walls and a couple of landline phones that never seem to stop ringing. People come in to ask about bus timings or to pick up tickets they booked earlier. There is a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it does its job of keeping the room somewhat cool during the hot afternoons. Most of our day is spent looking at schedules and talking to drivers who are out on the road. We have a small bench outside where people sit and wait if the office is full. The traffic on the main road nearby is always heavy, so there is a constant hum of engines and horns in the background. We usually have a stack of newspapers on the table for anyone waiting. Our staff is just a few local people who know the city routes and the long-distance paths like the back of their hand. We do not use any fancy software, just a lot of registers and some basic computer entries. Sometimes a driver calls in with a flat tire, and then everyone is scrambling to figure out a backup plan. It is a bit chaotic at times, but we have been doing this for long enough to handle the stress. We close up once the last booking for the night is settled.
