Out here in Vanasthalipuram, we handle all sorts of events. Whether it is a small birthday at home or a bigger function at a local hall, we are usually the ones moving the chairs and setting up the backdrops. We don't have a huge storefront; we mostly operate out of our storage space where we keep the tents, lights, and sound systems. Vanasthalipuram is a big residential pocket, so there is always someone having a ceremony. It’s hard work, mostly physical. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks at odd hours of the night. If an event ends at midnight, we are there till 2 AM packing everything up. We have a small crew of guys who have been helping us for years. We know which halls have bad wiring and where we need to bring extra extension cords. We don’t promise the moon, but we make sure the stage doesn't wobble and the lights stay on. Sometimes things go wrong, like a fuse blows, and we have to scramble to fix it before the guests arrive. That’s just part of the job. We don’t wear suits; we’re usually in dusty clothes from moving stages. People call us because they know we live right here in the neighborhood and won't disappear on them. We just take one event at a time and try to keep everyone happy.
