Classic Designers

We have a small place in Vanasthalipuram where we do our work. Classic Designers is mostly about getting clothes ready for people who live around this part of town. We don’t have a big storefront with mannequins in the window. Instead, our space is filled with sewing machines, different colored threads, and piles of cloth waiting to be cut. There is always the sound of needles clicking and the hum of the motors running. We spend our days measuring customers and trying to make sure the fit is right. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on small details, which can be hard on the eyes after a few hours. We get a lot of people coming in with their own fabric, asking us to make something they saw somewhere else. We don't have a catalog or a fancy brand name. We just do the stitching and the finishing as best as we can. Sometimes we get really busy before festivals, and we have to work extra hours to get everything finished on time. The floor is usually covered in bits of thread and fabric scraps by the evening. We aren't trying to be a big fashion house. We just like making clothes that people feel comfortable wearing. It’s a simple business, and we’ve been here in Vanasthalipuram for quite a while now. It is just us doing our best with every stitch.
