Srinivasa Seeds

Srinivasa Seeds has been sitting at 3-150 on the main road in Uppal for many years. If you are in the Hyderabad-39 area, you have probably seen our shop front more than once. It’s a busy location with a lot of trucks and cars zooming by all day long. Inside, the shop smells a bit like earth and paper, which is just how a seed business should be, I guess. We have bags and containers stacked up, and the shelves are usually pretty full. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. It’s not a high-tech environment. We use a lot of manual ledgers and keep track of things the old-fashioned way. Customers come in from the surrounding villages and we spend time chatting with them about their needs. We aren't interested in being a big corporate entity. We just want to make sure the people who come to Uppal find what they are looking for. The floor is concrete and we’ve got a couple of old fans that keep the air moving during the hot Hyderabad summers. Sometimes we sit out front on wooden stools when things are quiet. It’s a simple life and the work is honest. We don't have any big slogans or marketing plans. We just open up the shutters every morning and see who comes by. That’s how we’ve always operated and it works fine for us here.
