Shree Vazra Pet

Our place, Shree Vazra Pet, is at C-5 Ida Uppal Kalan. It’s tucked away in the industrial estate where everyone is busy making something or other. The sounds of heavy machinery and the smell of processing are just part of our daily life. We deal with plastic manufacturing, specifically PET products. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a tie. Most of us are in work clothes that get dirty pretty quickly. The building is a big open shed essentially, designed to hold our equipment and keep the rain off the stock. We have a small area partitioned off for the paperwork, but most of the action happens on the main floor. The guys who drive the delivery trucks are our main connection to the outside world. We spend a lot of time checking the settings on our machines to make sure everything is running smooth. Uppal Kalan is quite a walk from the main transport links, so most of us come in on scooters. We usually share a big tiffin lunch together in the shade when the machines are cooling down. It’s a straightforward operation without any layers of management. We know what needs to be done each morning and we just get to it. Sometimes we stay late if a big order is due, but we usually try to wrap up before it gets too dark. It’s a hard-working spot.
