United States Pharmacopeia

United States Pharmacopeia is situated way out in Shamirpet, over at the IKP Knowledge Park. Specifically, we’re on Plot N0.D6 & D8. Being in Genome Valley means we are surrounded by a lot of other labs and science-heavy places. It’s a quiet area compared to the city center, which is actually quite nice for the kind of work we do. We have people coming in from all over to help with the standards we set. It’s a lot of technical stuff, mostly dealing with how medicines are checked and verified. The facility is large enough to handle what we need, and since we're in the knowledge park, there’s a certain atmosphere of just getting things right. We don't really do much in the way of big announcements; we just stick to the technical side of things. The drive out to Shamirpet can be long if you’re coming from the main part of Hyderabad, but it’s worth it for the space and the quiet. We have a mix of local folks and people who moved here just for the job. Lunch breaks usually happen in the common areas where we talk about everything but work sometimes. It’s a straightforward environment. We’ve got our labs and our desks, and that’s about it. There isn't much fluff here, just a group of people making sure the standards are kept where they should be at all times.
