Unique Dance Academy

The studio is over in East Chandragiri Colony, right at Safilguda. It is a decent-sized space at 30-461/1 where we have the music playing pretty much from morning until evening. We started Unique Dance Academy because there was not much else for the kids to do around here. The floor is wooden, and we have to sweep it a lot because of all the dust that comes in from the street. It is not a huge professional stage, but it works for what we do. Usually, the younger kids come in the afternoon and the older ones later on. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the bass if the music is too loud, so we try to keep the windows shut when we can. It gets really sweaty in there during the summer months, even with the fans going full blast. We do not have fancy uniforms or anything, just comfortable clothes that let everyone move around. Most of the people who come here live nearby in the colony, so it feels like a neighborhood gathering most of the time. There is a water cooler in the corner that always seems to run out of cups. Sometimes we get the steps wrong, and we just laugh and try again. It is just a place to learn some moves and get some exercise. Safilguda is a nice place to be based. We have been here for a bit now and know most of the parents who drop their kids off.
