Uma Industries

Our place is at Door No: 15-2-686, right in the heart of Siddiamber Bazar. If you know the bazar, you know how crowded it gets. Uma Industries has been operating out of this spot for quite a while. The streets are narrow and there are always people moving carts and carrying bundles around. It is a constant buzz of activity from very early in the morning. We do not have much space, so every inch of the shop is used for something. We have boxes stacked high and the aisles are pretty tight. Sometimes it feels like the whole city is trying to squeeze through the bazar at once. We spend our time managing the stock and talking to the wholesalers who come by. It gets quite loud with all the shouting and the bells from the rickshaws. We do not have any fancy decorations or a big showroom; it is just a functional space where the work happens. The ceiling fans work hard to keep the air moving, but it still gets stuffy when the sun is high. We have a small ledger where we keep track of everything by hand. It feels more real that way. We have known the neighbors for decades and we all look out for each other. It is a tough environment but it is home to us and we just keep the business running.
