Out here in Bagh Amberpet, things move a little differently than in the main city center. Our address is 2-2-1109/3/A, and it’s a bit of a mouthful to tell the delivery drivers. Transgene Biotek Limited has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s a biotech place, which sounds very advanced, but the day-to-day is actually very routine. We spend a lot of time in the lab areas. It’s quiet inside compared to the street outside. We have some older equipment that still works perfectly fine, so we keep using it. There is no point in replacing things just for the sake of it. The lab coats get stained, and the coffee mugs are always half-full on the desks. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek look. The focus is always on the samples and the testing we have to do. Sometimes the rain in Hyderabad makes the road outside a bit of a mess, and we have to be careful not to track mud into the clean zones. It’s a lot of waiting for results and then checking them again. We’ve got a small group here, and most of us have seen the area change quite a bit over the years. It’s a steady job. We show up, do the science, and then go home to our families. It is a plain and simple way to contribute to the field without all the corporate drama you see in movies.
