Our place is at number 911 in Gandhinagar, over in the Bakaram area. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if you don’t know the lanes well. We handle home care stuff, mostly things like cleaners and liquids for the house. The smell of soap and disinfectant is always pretty strong inside the room. We spend our days filling up bottles or checking the boxes that come in from the suppliers. It’s mostly manual work, moving crates from one corner to the other so we can make space for new deliveries. The floor is usually a bit slippery if someone spills a drop, so we are careful. We don't really have a big storefront with signs, it’s more of a practical space where we get the work done. The neighbors know us because we’ve been at this spot for some time. We keep the ledger on a wooden desk that’s seen better days. When the sun hits the window in the afternoon, it gets quite warm, so we keep the old ceiling fan running at full speed. It makes a clicking sound but it works well enough. We just focus on getting the orders ready for whoever needs them. It’s a quiet routine, really. We pack things up, label them by hand, and wait for the transport guys to arrive. We usually drink tea together around four when the heat dies down a little bit. It's just a regular small business making ends meet.
