Ashoka Colour Company

We’ve been here at Plot No 359 on Pipe Line Road for a while now. It’s usually busy in Subhash Nagar, Jeedimetla, so you might miss our gate if you’re not looking closely. Ashoka Colour Company handles a lot of different colour work in this shed. It gets pretty dusty in the afternoons when the wind blows through the doors. Sometimes the big delivery trucks block the whole road and we have to wait for them to move. We deal with various dyes and pigments. Most of our regular customers have known us for years. The shop floor is always stained with different shades of blue and red. We started out quite small but now we have more stock than we have room for. People ask for very specific mixes. We just try to get it right. It is hard work, especially when the weather gets really hot inside. We don't have any fancy air-conditioned offices here, just the main shed and the mixing area in the back. My nephew helps out with the accounts usually because I am not good with the computer at all. We just keep things moving day to day. If someone needs a bucket of something, they just stop by and we see what we can do for them. It isn’t always quiet here because of the mixing machinery. But we like the area. Subhash Nagar has changed a lot. The road is better but still gets muddy. We just focus on the orders we have.
