Star Decorators

Our shop is over in Khilwath, right near the Charminar area in Hyderabad. It is a busy place with a lot of people moving around all the time. We spend our days dealing with piles of fabric, flowers, and various props for different events. Most of the work happens on-site, but we do a lot of the prep work here at House No 20-353/354. You can usually see us unloading rolls of cloth or fixing up frames for stages. It gets quite crowded in the workshop when we have multiple jobs going on at once. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a good while, so we know the local rhythms and the traffic patterns around the old city. Dealing with the narrow streets while moving large decorations can be a real headache sometimes. We just get on with it, though. We do stuff for local weddings and various celebrations. It’s not just about looking good, there’s a lot of heavy lifting and manual labor involved in setting everything up. Sometimes we are up all night making sure a hall is ready for the next morning. The work is physical and can be messy with all the scraps of material and wire lying around. We don't have much time for sitting around. When we aren't out at a venue, we are here organizing the inventory and making sure everything is clean and ready for the next use. There's always something that needs fixing or sewing.
