Sri Venkateshwara Book Binding Agencies is located at No. 5-2-448 in the Risala Abdullah area. We are right next to the petrol pump in New Osmangunj. You can usually smell the glue and the old paper before you even walk in the door. We have been binding books and files for a long time now. The shop is full of stacks of paper and heavy machines for pressing and cutting. It’s a very manual process. My hands are often stained with ink or sticky from the glue we use. We don't have a fancy computer system for orders. We just write everything down in a big ledger. The ceiling is high but the shelves go all the way up, so we have to use a ladder. It’s a bit dusty in here because of all the paper. People bring in old ledgers that are falling apart or new printouts that need a hard cover. We take our time with each one. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to fix them with a wrench. It’s not a modern office at all. It’s more like a workshop. The noise from the petrol pump next door is constant, but we don't mind it. We have some tea in the morning and work until the sun goes down. It is a steady life and we like the feeling of a finished book in our hands. Every stack of paper has a different story or a different use for the people who bring them.
