Sri Balaji Jewellers

Sri Balaji Jewellers has been a part of Abids Road for quite some time now. We are located right opposite the Santosh Sapna Theatre, which is a big landmark for anyone in this part of the city. Being across from a cinema means there is always a lot of foot traffic and people hanging around, especially in the evenings when a movie is letting out. Our shop is traditional and a bit small, with glass counters that we spend a lot of time cleaning because of all the fingerprints. We don't have those big, modern displays you see in the corporate malls. It is more about the personal touch here, where we sit across from people and talk about what they need, whether it is a small repair or something for a wedding. The lighting is bright to show off the metal, but the rest of the shop is pretty plain. We have a small safe in the back and a few stools for customers to sit on while they look at pieces. Sometimes the noise from the traffic on Abids Road gets a bit much, but you get used to it after a few years. We keep a ledger for our accounts and try to stay on top of the fluctuating prices. It’s a modest way of doing things, and we prefer it that way. Most of our visitors are locals who have been coming to this area for many years.
