The traffic in Hyderabad is something else, and it’s always buzzing outside our windows. Cement is a tough business, mostly because it’s heavy and everything gets covered in a fine layer of grey dust after a while. We aren't doing anything glamorous here. We spend a lot of time on the phone with sites and logistics people. There are always stacks of paperwork on the desks and people coming in to talk about deliveries. The office isn't overly decorated. It feels like a place where work actually happens rather than a showroom. We have our routines, like getting tea in the afternoon and catching up on the local news. Dealing with cement means you're always thinking about schedules and weather. We don't have a flashy mission statement hanging on the wall. We just try to get the bags where they need to go. Working in Somajiguda means there’s always somewhere to grab a quick bite, which is nice when things get crazy. It’s just us, some desks, a lot of ledger books, and the constant sound of the city outside. We’ve been at this address for a while and we know the neighborhood inside out. It's just a regular workplace for us and that is enough.
