Sms Pharmaceuticals Limited is situated right across from Bhartiya Viddya Bhawan. It is a quiet enough area compared to the busy main market roads, which is really nice for getting our daily work done without too many distractions. The building we are in is quite plain on the outside, but it is sturdy and has plenty of room for all of us to work comfortably. We spend a lot of our time sitting at our desks, surrounded by stacks of files and the occasional pile of lab reports. There is a certain steady rhythm to the day here. We arrive in the morning, make a fresh pot of tea, and start going through the tasks we left from the day before. The view out of the window is mostly just the main gate of the Bhawan and the old trees that line the street. It is a bit of a local landmark, so we never really have to give long or complicated directions to anyone coming to see us. The office itself is purely functional. We have the usual things you would expect—computers, a few old filing cabinets that have definitely seen better days, and some wooden chairs that are surprisingly comfortable to sit in. We do not go in for big meetings or fancy presentations here. Most of the talking and planning happens while we are standing around the water cooler or during the lunch break. It is an easy-going atmosphere, though we do stay very busy. Sometimes when it is quiet in the afternoon, you can hear the birds in the trees.
