We are located in the Suryakiran Complex on S.D. Road. Our office is Room 203 on the second floor. It’s a busy part of town, so there’s always a lot of noise coming up from the street. Smc Pneumatics is where we spend our ten to six. We deal with all sorts of pneumatic valves and cylinders. The room is lined with metal cabinets full of small parts. It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re sorting through the inventory lists. We have a couple of old computers that take their time booting up in the morning. The light in the hallway flickers sometimes, which can be annoying. Most of our day is spent talking to people who need specific parts for their factory machines. We have to be careful with the part numbers because one wrong digit ruins everything. It’s not the kind of work that makes the news, but it keeps things moving for our customers. We’ve got a small pantry area where we keep the kettle and some biscuits. The regulars who come by know us well enough to just walk in. S.D. Road has plenty of places to grab a bite, so lunch is usually something from one of the nearby stalls. We’ve been in this building long enough to know all the other tenants on our floor. It’s a steady kind of life, focused on the hardware and the shipping dates. We just try to get the orders right every single day.
