Site Supervisor

We are based at Kandikal Gate in Hyderabad, which is a pretty old and busy part of the city. I have been supervising sites around here for a long time now. My day usually starts at D No 18-3-421 where I check the plans for the day and see what materials we are low on. Then I head out to whatever site we are working on. It is a lot of checking on the masonry and making sure the cement to sand ratio is actually what it should be. The workers sometimes try to take shortcuts, so I have to be there to catch it before the concrete sets. Hyderabad is famous for its rocks, so sometimes we spend days just trying to clear a spot before we can even start the foundation. I spend a lot of time on the phone with the steel suppliers, especially when prices go up and we have to adjust. The area around Kandikal Gate is very tight, so it is hard to move big machines in. I do a lot of the coordination myself. I do not have any fancy mission statements or anything. I just want the walls to be straight and the roof to be solid. I usually go home covered in white dust from the plastering. It is not an easy job, but it is what I know how to do. I know all the local guys.
