We are down in Koti at House No 4-6-367. It’s on the main road, not far from the Haridwar Hotel. Koti is one of those places that never really sleeps, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving around. Our office is a simple one, mostly just a place to keep the project files and meet with the site supervisors. There is usually some sand or dust on the floor that we’ve tracked in from various construction sites. We spend a lot of our day on the move, so the office isn't always full. When we are there, we are usually arguing over schedules or checking the inventory of materials like cement and steel. It’s hard work and it isn't always pretty. The walls have some old photos of projects we finished years ago. We have a small desk for the accountant and a couple of chairs for whoever drops by. The tea from the nearby hotel is what keeps us going in the afternoons. It’s a very traditional way of doing business here. We don't use a lot of fancy software; we mostly rely on our notebooks and the experience we’ve gathered over the years. Koti is a tough place to navigate, but it’s central for us. We just keep our heads down and focus on the buildings we are putting up. It’s a straightforward life.
