Sathish Wood Carving

We run Sathish Wood Carving from our place at 78-1-42 in Tarakarama Nagar. This is located in the Kondagattu area. It’s more of a workshop than a business office. We have wood and tools scattered around most of the time. The space is dedicated to the work we do with our hands. Tarakarama Nagar is a quiet neighborhood, which is good when we need to concentrate. We’ve been here for a long time and the local people know what we do. You can usually hear the sound of tools if you walk past our door. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. It’s just us doing the work as it comes in. The building itself is quite simple and hasn't changed much over the years. We like it that way. It’s comfortable and familiar. Kondagattu is a place where people appreciate things made by hand, so we feel like we belong here. We don't have a formal reception area or anyone to answer the phones. If the bell rings, one of us just stops what we’re doing to see who it is. It’s a very direct way of doing things. We spend most of our daylight hours here. The work is physical and sometimes tiring, but it’s what we know. We don't try to make our business sound bigger than it is. It’s just a small shop in a quiet corner of town where we do our carving.
