You can find Astha Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. over at B/1 in the Industrial Estate. It is one of those older sections of town where the roads are a bit rough and there is always some kind of construction going on. The building has been here for years, and you can tell by looking at the walls. Inside, though, we try to keep the lab areas as clean as we can. It’s a very practical space with concrete floors and heavy-duty benches. There is usually a faint smell of chemicals in the air, but you stop noticing it after the first hour of work. Our team is small and most of us have been working together for a long time. We handle different batches and testing throughout the day. When the monsoon hits, the roof sometimes leaks in the storage area, so we have to move things around. We have a small corner with a table where we eat our lunch and talk about the news. The entrance gate is a bit rusty and makes a loud noise when you open it. We aren't the kind of place that gets a lot of visitors, so we don't worry too much about the decor. We just focus on the samples and making sure the results are written down correctly in the ledgers. It is hard, repetitive work, but it’s what we do. The industrial estate is a noisy place, but we like the familiarity of it all.
