If you head down to Shalivahan Nagar in Sri Nagar Colony, you'll find us at Plot No 51. We’re quite close to Sathya Sai Nigamagam, which is a big landmark around here. The office for Samar Ramachandra Associates is a practical space where we handle all our architectural work. It’s not a corporate skyscraper or anything like that. It’s just a building in a residential-style street where we’ve set up our desks and computers. The area is usually okay, but it gets very busy whenever there is an event at the Nigamagam. We spend our days drawing up plans and discussing how things should look. There’s always a bit of a mess with paper and pens everywhere. We don’t really worry about having everything look perfect in the office; we’re more focused on getting the actual work done. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always going. Sometimes we step out to the local tea stall to get a break from the screens. We’ve been in Hyderabad for quite some time now, and this spot in Sri Nagar Colony feels like home to the business. It’s a lot of sitting and thinking, then drawing, then changing things again. That’s just the way the work goes. We don’t try to make it sound more important than it is. We just show up, do the drawings, and talk to the people we need to talk to.
