You can find us at 4-3-345/5 in Gujarati Galli, right off Bank Street in Koti. If you know that area, you know how crowded it gets. Roland Electronics is right in the middle of all that chaos. Every morning, the shutters go up and we start moving things around to make space for people to come in. The shop is narrow and filled with all sorts of electronic parts and gadgets. It’s been this way for a long time. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright neon lights. Most of our shelves are just wooden planks that have been there since the beginning. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. The noise from Bank Street is constant—horns honking, people shouting, and the general buzz of the market. We usually have a small radio playing in the corner to drown it out a bit. We get all kinds of people coming in, from students looking for a small part to older folks who’ve been coming here for years. We don’t believe in being overly formal. We just talk to people like they’re our neighbors, because usually, they are. By the time evening comes and the market starts to quiet down a little, we’re usually ready to pack up. It’s a tiring job being in such a busy spot, but it’s what we know and we’re used to the noise and the constant activity by now.
