South India Cements Ltd. is located over in Budwel, which is part of the Rajendranagar area. Our address is 1 1 31/4/1, though some people find it easier to just ask around for the cement place once they get close to Budwel. It’s a dusty kind of job, as you can imagine with cement, but we’ve been here long enough that it doesn’t bother us. The office and the operations happen right here on the ground. We aren't tucked away in some high-rise building in the city. We prefer being where the actual work happens. The trucks come in and out all day, and there is usually a lot of activity near the gate. We have a mix of people working here, some who have been with us for decades and some newer faces. It’s a local operation at heart. We don’t bother with much marketing or trying to sound more important than we are. We make cement and we sell it to people who need it for building. Rajendranagar is a growing area, so there is always something going on nearby. We just focus on our daily production targets and making sure the bags are filled correctly. If you come by, you’ll see us in our work gear, probably covered in a bit of white dust. That is just how life is here at the Budwel site. We like the work we do.
