Out here in Katedan, at Survey No 48, things are pretty industrial. Our place, L 113, is surrounded by other warehouses and small factories. It is a dusty area with big trucks moving in and out of the lanes all day. Inside Sara Plast, it is mostly about the machines and the stacks of plastic goods. There is a constant low hum from the equipment that you eventually stop noticing after a few hours. We spend a lot of time checking the items as they come off the line and packing them into big sacks. It’s hard work and it gets very hot, especially in the middle of the day when the sun hits the roof. We usually have a big water cooler near the entrance that everyone uses. There isn’t much in the way of decoration here. The walls are plain, and the floor is concrete. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the logs and delivery notes. Everything is about moving things from one place to another. In the evenings, when the machines are turned off, it finally gets quiet. We lock up the big gates and head home, usually tired but ready to do it again the next morning. It is a straightforward business, nothing fancy, just a lot of plastic and a lot of heavy lifting. The Rajendranagar area is busy, but we stay focused.
