The Regent Plastics

Out in Katedan, the industrial vibe is everywhere. We’re in Shed No 5 at Survey No 48, right in the Rajendera Nagar Mandal area. The Regent Plastics is basically a big open space where the machines do most of the heavy lifting. It’s hot work, especially when the plastic is being melted and shaped. There’s a specific smell to the place that you never really get out of your clothes. We spend most of the shift watching the molds and making sure the cooling water is running right. The yard outside is usually full of scrap and big bags of raw pellets. It’s a dusty part of town, and the roads in Katedan aren't always the smoothest. We have a small crew of guys who know how to handle the heat. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a partitioned corner with a fan and some old files. Most days involve a lot of stacking and checking for defects in the finish. It’s not perfect work, but it’s what we do. We get the trucks in early and try to get everything loaded before the midday heat gets too bad. People know us as the guys in Shed 5. We don't do much in the way of meetings or planning; we just see what needs to be made and get to it. It’s a loud, busy environment, but it feels right for this part of Rajendera Nagar.
