Out here on the main road in Sanat Nagar, things move pretty fast. Our place is Plot A/5, right across from the ICICI ATM. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows where that is. We deal with Toyotas mostly. They are sturdy cars, but even they need a look-over every now and then. The shop floor is usually full. You’ll hear the sound of tools clanking and people talking over the traffic outside. It's not a quiet place. We don't have any fancy speeches for when you walk in. Usually, someone will just ask what’s wrong with the car. We’ve got a mix of older guys who have been fixing engines forever and some younger ones learning the ropes. Sometimes we run out of space and have to shuffle cars around the lot like a puzzle. It gets tiring but it’s part of the job. Sanat Nagar is a busy spot, so we get people stopping in for all sorts of things. Maybe it’s a light that won't turn off or just a weird rattle. We take a look, see what’s what. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day. Nothing too complicated, just making sure the cars that leave here are in better shape than when they arrived. We’ve been on this plot for a bit now and the neighbors are used to us. It's just us doing our thing on the main road, trying to keep up with the schedule.
